IVs (Individual Values) are hidden stats from 0–31 that every Pokémon is born with. At level 100, one IV point equals one stat point — so a 31-IV Pokémon is meaningfully stronger than a 0-IV one.
How to check IVs

Getting perfect IVs
- Breeding: give parents a Destiny Knot to pass down 5 IVs from the combined 12 — the standard path to 5–6 perfect IVs.
- Hyper Training: at level 100, Bottle Caps max out IVs functionally (great for legendaries you can't breed).
- Nature: a boosting nature multiplies a stat by 1.1 — always pair the right nature with your IV spread.
For competitive play, 31 in key stats plus the right nature beats a random caught Pokémon every time.
