Fastest 99s (roughly)
- Cooking — ~30–40 hours with high-volume methods; cheap too.
- Firemaking / Fletching — very fast with the right methods, moderate cost.
- Prayer — extremely fast at high-level altars, but very expensive.
- Thieving (Ardougne knights → elves) — fast once unlocked, great money.
Slowest grinds
Runecrafting, Agility and Slayer are famously slow — plan for hundreds of hours. That's normal; pick methods you can sustain.
Pro tip: calculate XP remaining before committing to a grind, and compare GP/XP of methods. The 'fastest' method you quit after an hour is worse than a slower one you'll actually do.
